How Can We Help?
We specialize in treating orthopedic issues such as back and neck pain, sports injuries, pain due to physical labor, tension due to stress and posture, and much more. We can also treat most general practice issues, and follow the path of classical and traditional eastern medicine in helping to achieve your optimal health. Our treatments are personalized and seek to address the roots of the issues while resolving the symptoms, keeping you in your best form to live the life you want. Often, relief can be had in a shorter time then expected, and all without the side effects associated with drug based treatments.

Acupuncture is provided by William Hunt, NJ Licensed Acupuncturist, NCCAOM Diplomate, Masters graduate of The Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine. He is experienced in treating a wide variety of health issues with TCM Acupuncture, while developing a niche for working on pain relief and orthopedic issues using a combination of classical and modern approaches with good success. A first visit will involve completing a new patient intake form and discussion of a treatment plan, along with your first treatment itself. A typical treatment will take around 30 minutes while you relax, plus another 15 minutes if you require trigger point needling, or cupping, etc. Sometimes treatments may include 2 rounds for front and back when necessary, in such cases, the entire treatment may take about 1 hour or so.
(Please note: We do not currently accept insurance or perform any insurance billing duties. If your insurance covers Acupuncture, you may request an invoice for your treatment with which to seek reimbursement on your own.)

Cupping is also available. If you’re not familiar with the practice, it works by drawing blood from deeper, more oxygenated muscle layers, and through tense or deficient areas on its way towards the skin. This helps to refresh depleted areas and relax tight muscle. It also helps to cleanse the body by helping to move and process toxins out more efficiently. The process usually takes 10 - 15 minutes, any may be added to your Acupuncture treatment, or scheduled separately as its own treatment as well. (After cupping it is important to protect the area from direct wind or cold, including being too close to the air conditioner.)

Moxibustion, or Moxa, is the use of an herb that is briefly burned in small amounts near the skin at the acupuncture points or sometimes on the needle. This warms and tonifies the affected pathway. When necessary this may sometimes be included in your treatment, or can also be purchased as an add-on at your request.

Part of most treatments, when they are geared toward orthopedic issues and muscle pain, is the identification and release of muscle spasms and tension through the use of trigger points. You may often hear this referred to as “dry needling” which is the same thing. When performed by a licensed Acupuncturist, as part of a complete Acupuncture treatment, it is simply considered one of our techniques, not a separate practice. if this is something you require, it will be explained to you and included in your Acupuncture treatment.

Electric Stimulation refers to using specific electrical frequencies applied to the needles through clips attached to a battery powered machine to further enhance the treatment. In some cases it may be suggested as a part of your Acupuncture treatment, or it can also be purchased as an add-on at your request.
